Thematic Shows

Leningrad  - the cradle of the Soviet revolution - was a very popular theme amongst Soviet artists in the 1940s-1970s – depicting the Moika river, Fontanka, Smolny, and the places where Dostoevsky’s characters led their lives. 

Here we show a selection of works by Natalia Gippius, Naira Akopyan, Mikhail Rojter, Lipa Rojter, Mikhail Natarevich, Evgenii Gavrilkevich, Klara Vlasova, Galina Dmitrieva, Svetlana Ryazanova, Vadim Volikov, Aleksei Tretyakov, Boris Derzhavin, Boris Uspensky, Tatyana Kovrigina, Dmitrii Dmitriev, and Ivan Tsarevich.
