Thematic Shows

In the Soviet Union, women were strongly encouraged to work in the industry or agriculture, to help build socialism. Consequently, this theme also became important for artists to depict.
This exhibition shows women laying asphalt, operating the nuclear power plant, at the threshing floor, coal mining women, and many more.

We show works by Lipa Rojter, Masabikh Akhunov, Dmitrii Dmitriev, Konstantin Gneushev, Vladimir Andrushkevich, Boris Uspensky, Nikolai Lapshin and Nikolai Schumkin, plus a number of 1950s and 1960s posters.
