Landscape and genre painter

Yurii Fyodorovich Vnodchenko was born in the village Koscharka near Odessa in Ukraine in a peasant's family.

He graduated from the Kiev Art Institute, and from the beginning of his professional career he concentrated on lyrical genre paintings, showing the day-to-day life of the 1950's and 1960's.

He is a representative of the strong school of Voronezh artists of the 1950's and 1960's.

During the 1970's and 1980's he painted many portraits, his favourite topic being the farmer, depicting his direct connection to the soil and his natural wisdom.

In his mature years he has concentrated on landscapes and village scenes, mainly the scenes around Voronezh.
