March 1965 Plenum of the Central Committee

A collection of Posters, issued shortly after the March 1965 Plenum of the Central Committee of the Soviet Communist Party. At the plenum, one of the main themes was the productivity of the agricultural sector, and a number of important themes in relation to this was discussed.
A propaganda campaign amongst people working on farms was agreed. The Moscow studio "Agitplakat" - "Agitational Poster" - was given the task to publish a series of posters on the theme.

The artists of the studio were a group of well-esteemed poster artists, working in the tradition of "Okna Rosta" of the 1920s, and "Okna Tass" of the war years.

This collection shows 22 posters by 10 different artists, and with lyrics by well-known poets of the time.
