Thematic Shows

The development of aviation - both military and civil - was one of the main symbols of the aim of technological supremacy of the Soviet Union from the 1930s through the 1970s.

This was depicted in the 1920s avantgarde (often by the poet Vladimir Mayakovskii), through the development of the civil aviation in the 1950s, and symbolised by Yurii Gagarin and the other cosmonauts thorugh the 1960s.

Artists include Boris Uspensky, Vadim Volikov, Lilia Levshunova, Yaroslav Titov, Vitalii Davydov, Lipa Rojter, Natalia Gippius, Marina Uspenskaya and Masabikh Akhunov.

In the end of the exhibition you may find a rare colletion of aviation pins and medals of the 1950s and 1960s.
