Genre and portrait painter

Tatyana Isaakovna Livshits was born in Moscow. In 1944 she entered the Surikov art institute in Moscow, where she studied under N. Chernyshyov and A. Gritsai. Tatyana was accepted as a member of the Moscow Artists' Union in 1958.

During her whole career she has focused on genre painting, including the genres of music, city life, and the children's hospital.

She has travelled extensively, in Italy, England ans Scotland, and Denmark, all of which she has depicted in her colourful oils and pastels.

From the mid 1970s Tatyana Isaakovna started painting portraits, and in recent years she is painting Moscow cityscapes and still-lives.
