In 1966 Vasiliy Dubiago graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Civil Engineering. From 1964 to 1977 he studied with the artists M.S. Belomlinsky, V.M. Menshikov and B.S. Ivanov at the A.M. Gorky poster and cartoon studio of the Palace of Culture. In 1981 he became Head of this studio. He was a regular contributor to various publications including Boevoi karandash (The Militant Pencil) from 1968 to 1991. Since 1977 Dubiago has been working as an artistic designer at the House of Scientists. In 1986 Dubiago became a member of the Union of Soviet Artists, and in 1989 he was accepted into the Union of the Journalists of the USSR.
