Petros Malayan was born in Baku in 1927. He finished at the Baku Art School in 1945. In 1945-47 he studied at the Leningrad Art Academy and finished the Erevan Art Institute in 1951.
In the years 1960-1962 he taught at the Erevan Theatre-art Institute.
He was known as a graphic artist.
