Well-known Moscow book illustrator, mainly working with childrens' textbook illustrations. From the 1950s he worked for the Moscow publishing house "Diafilm", producing illustrations to the so called Diafilms.
The drawings were then reproduced, and projected on to a larger screen, and shown at schools and pioneer camps, with the texts and explanations for the drawings being read aloud.
This exhibition holds a number of gouaches showing different scenarios:
The daily life of 8-10 year old girls, how to learn to spell with the use of a dog, boys gathering mushrooms and berries, the history of Moscow (14th century, the 1812 war with Napoleon, October Revolution) and life at a scientific camp in the arctic, or daily life at a pioneer camp.
