Vladimir Mikhailovich graduated from the graphical department of the Moscow State Institute named after Lenin in 1951, where he studied under Efanov and Reshetnikov.

Member of the Union of Artists since 1972.

During the 1960s and 1970s he traveled extensively in Siberia on state commissions, documenting in large canvases the construction of the Krasnoyarsk hydro-electrical powerplant (1963-1965), and the oil and gas pipelines in Tyumen and Urengoi (1976-1982).
