Former Pashkovs Palace, known in Moscow as House of Pashkov, comissioned by the rich landowner Pashkov and built in 1784-86. In the XIXth century this building housed the celebrated Rumyantsev Museum.
The collections of Count Rumyantsev contained a priceless library, which served as the basis for the Lenin State Library which was to be opened in the House of Pashkov in 1925, while the art collection was moved to the Tretyakov Gallery and Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts.
