Story

Work Safety Posters in the Soviet Union

Work safety was a big issue in the Soviet Union, both for ideological reasons, and also because of the lack of basic education for many of the manual workers.

For this purpose, a large number of educational posters were made during the 1940-1980s. This exhibition shows some original gouache and watercolour posters made by Aleksander Gulyaev (1917-1995) in the 1940s-1950s, as well as a series of printed posters of the the 1970s by Vladimir Kireev (born 1945).

Included are also a few fire safety posters
